This session covers bankruptcy, how to negotiate, dispute, or contest debt, and handling debt collection and creditor lawsuits.

  • Materials needed for the session.
  • Follow-along facilitator instructions and speaking prompts.
  • 1-2 discussion questions with sample answers in each section (5 total).
  • Instructions for leading a small group activity regarding real-life debt-related scenarios.
  • A worksheet for the participants to complete during the activity that shares a debt-related situation a character is facing and includes space for participants to write down strategies the character could utilize to address their debt issues.
  • 10 wrap-up discussion questions and an answer key for the instructor to summarize the key takeaways at the end of the session.
  • An optional worksheet for participants to answer wrap-up discussion questions in a written form.
